Troubleshooting: Jams

Modified on Tue, 18 Feb at 10:05 AM

1. Turn Off and Unplug the Printer: Before attempting to clear the paper jam, make sure the printer is turned off and unplugged from the power source to avoid any electrical hazards.

2. Remove the Paper Tray: Pull out the paper tray completely and check for any jammed paper in the tray opening. Remove any paper you find.

3. Check the Paper Path: Inspect the cavity where the paper tray was installed for any remaining paper. Gently remove any visible paper by pulling it towards the front of the machine.

4. Open the Front Cover: Lift the front cover of the printer and carefully take out the drum unit and toner cartridge assembly. Check for any obstructions or jammed paper inside and remove them.

5. Remove Jammed Paper: If you find any paper stuck in the printer, gently pull it out to avoid tearing. Be sure to check under the drum unit and toner cartridge as well.

6. Check the Rear of the Printer: Turn the printer around and open the rear cover. Remove any jammed paper from this area.

7. Reinstall Components: Once all jammed paper is removed, reinstall the drum unit and toner cartridge assembly. Close the front and rear covers securely.

8. Reload the Paper Tray: Adjust the paper guides in the tray to fit the paper size properly and reload the paper tray with fresh paper.

9. Plug In and Turn On the Printer: Plug the printer back in and turn it on. Test the printer by printing a test page to ensure that the paper jam issue has been resolved.
