1. Identify the Jam Location

Check the screen for an error message indicating where the jam is (Tray, Duplex Unit, Fuser).

2. Turn Off the Printer

Power down the printer and unplug it to prevent damage or injury.

3. Remove the Jammed Paper

  • Paper Tray: Open the tray and gently pull out any stuck paper.
  • Inside the Printer: Open side and front covers, then carefully remove jammed sheets.
  • Fuser Unit: Wait for it to cool, then remove any paper stuck inside.
  • Duplex Unit: Open the rear cover and remove any trapped sheets.

4. Check for Small Paper Pieces

Look for and remove any torn paper fragments to prevent future jams.

5. Reload Paper Correctly

  • Ensure paper is aligned and within the tray’s capacity.
  • Use the correct paper type for the printer.

6. Restart the Printer

Plug the printer back in, turn it on, and check if the error clears.
