Troubleshooting: Printing From Wrong Tray on Canon

Modified on Tue, 18 Feb at 10:02 AM

1. Check Paper Size and Type Settings: Make sure that the paper size and type settings on the printer match the paper loaded in the tray. Mismatched settings can cause the printer to select the wrong tray.

2. Adjust Tray Settings: Navigate to Settings > Paper Settings > Tray Settings on the printer's control panel. Ensure that the settings match the paper loaded in the tray.

3. Verify Paper Orientation: Double-check that the paper is correctly oriented in the tray. For example, Letter-size paper should be loaded in portrait orientation.

4. Set Default Tray: Confirm that the printer is programmed to use the correct tray for printing. You can set the default tray in the printer's settings menu.

5. Check Driver Settings: On your computer, go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers. Right-click on your Canon printer and select Printing Preferences. Under the Paper/Quality tab, make sure the Paper Source is set to the desired tray.

6. Test Print: Print a test page to verify that the printer is now using the correct tray.
