If you're experiencing issues with copying double-sided documents, don't worry! This Quick Fix Checklist will guide you through some simple steps to ensure your copying process goes smoothly.
1. Make Sure You’re Using the ADF (Top Feeder)
To successfully copy double-sided originals, it’s essential to utilize the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF). Place your originals face up in the ADF on top of the machine. Remember, the platen glass is designed to scan only one side at a time unless you manually flip the documents. Using the ADF not only saves time but also ensures that your copies are made efficiently and accurately.
2. Turn on Duplex in Copy Settings
To enable double-sided copying, follow these steps on your touchscreen:
- Tap the "Copy" option to access the copy settings.
- Look for the “2-Sided” or “Duplex” option.
- Depending on your needs, select the appropriate setting:
| What You Have | What You Want | Setting to Choose |
|---|---|---|
| 1-sided original | 2-sided copy | 1 → 2 Sided |
| 2-sided original | 2-sided copy | 2 → 2 Sided |
| 2-sided original | 1-sided copy | 2 → 1 Sided |
- After making your selection, simply press the "Start" button to begin copying.
?If You Don’t See Duplex Options
If you’re unable to find the duplex options, it could be due to a few common issues:
1. Paper Type Restriction: Ensure you are using plain paper, as duplex functionality may be disabled for labels, cardstock, or thick paper. Check your settings under Tray Settings → Paper Type to confirm.
2. Paper is Loaded Incorrectly: Double-check that the paper is loaded correctly in the tray and that the correct tray is selected on the screen.
3. Driver Issue (if copying from computer): If you are printing from your computer, open the Print Properties and look for the “Print on Both Sides” option. Make sure to enable it in the driver settings.
By following this checklist, you can quickly troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to double-sided copying. If you continue to experience problems, please reach out to our Customer Care Team or use ePASS to request a Service Technician's assistance.
