To set up scanning to a network folder, follow these steps:
Step 1: Create a Scan Folder
- Open File Explorer:
- Navigate to the C: Drive.
- Create a new folder and name it "Scans".
- (Optional) Create a shortcut on your Desktop for easy access.
Step 2: Share the Scan Folder
- Right-click on the Scans Folder:
- Click Properties.
- Go to the Sharing tab and click the Share button.
Set Permissions:
If you want everyone on your network to have access to scan to the network folder:
- Select Everyone from the drop-down menu.
- Add them and set the Permission Level to Read/Write.
- Click Share and then Done to confirm.
- If you want only certain users to scan to the network folder, you can choose each person or individually.
Step 3: Configure the Lexmark Web Interface
- Log in to the Web Interface:
- Open your preferred browser and enter your Lexmark's IP address in the URL bar.
- Web Interface will open
2. Click "Setup Scan to Network".
15. Click "Add" next to the Scan Destination box.
16. Enter the name you want to show on the machine in the "Name" field.
17. Go back to your file explorer, right click on the Scan Folder, and choose "Copy as Path".
18. Paste the file path to your Scan Folder in the "Share Path" field.
19. Select the option "Use the following username and password" under the Authentication Options.
20. Input the username and password used to log into Windows.
21. You can choose what name you want as the "Save As". It will automatically change with each new file based on the time and date.
22. Click "OK".
23. You may need to restart your machine for the changes to take effect.
