Network Folder Patch Specified Does Not Exist - Error Message

Modified on Tue, 18 Feb at 10:03 AM

If you are encountering the error message "The network folder path specified does not exist." on your HP LaserJet Enterprise printer while scanning to a private folder using the Scan to Network Folder function, follow these steps to resolve the issue:

1. Open the HP Embedded Web Server (EWS) by typing your printer's IP address into a web browser.

2. Click on the Networking tab and then select Other Settings from the left navigation pane.

3. In the Misc Settings tab, clear or disable the WINS Registration check box.

This error message typically occurs when configuring Quick Sets in the HP EWS with a private folder specified in the UNC Folder Path field in the format of \\IP-address\folder-name. Ensure that the computer hosting the folder is not joined to any domain and that the credentials used to access the folder are for a user on the host computer.

This issue affects HP LaserJet Enterprise printers running FutureSmart firmware versions 4.8.1 and 4.9.
