Setting Up a Scan Folder on Network for Kyocera Devices

In this article, we will guide you through the process of setting up a Scan Folder on your PC for seamless scanning with your Kyocera device.


Step 1: Create a Scan Folder

  • Open File Explorer:
  • Navigate to the C: Drive.
  • Create a new folder and name it "Scans".
  • (Optional) Create a shortcut on your Desktop for easy access.

Step 2: Share the Scan Folder

  • Right-click on the Scans Folder:
  • Click Properties.
  • Go to the Sharing tab and click the Share button.


Set Permissions:


If you want everyone on your network to have access to scan to the network folder:

  • Select Everyone from the drop-down menu.
  • Add them and set the Permission Level to Read/Write.
  • Click Share and then Done to confirm.


 

If you want only certain users to scan to the network folder, you can choose each person or individually.


Step 3: Configure the Kyocera Web Interface

  1. Log in to the Web Interface:
    • Open your preferred browser and enter your Kyocera's IP address.
    • Log in as an Admin with the credentials Admin and password 1234567.

2. Access the Address Book:

  • Click on Address Book, then Machine Address Book.
  • Add a new user or select a previously entered user.



3. Enter SMB Information:

  • Fill in the necessary information:
    • Host name: Your computer's name.
    • Port Number: Any open port on your network (21 is common).
    • Path: Located in the folder properties you created.
    • Login and Password.
  • Click Test to ensure the connection is successful, then click Submit.

Step 4: Scan to the Folder

  1. At the Kyocera Device:
    • Select the Folder with the SMB icon (circled in red below) and your Computer name in the Address Book.
    • Make any additional selections and scan as usual.
    • All scans will now be saved in the folder you created on your PC.
