Troubleshooting: Kyocera Printing From Wrong Tray

Modified on Thu, 6 Feb at 7:41 PM

If you are experiencing issues with your Kyocera printer pulling from the wrong tray or encountering errors while printing, there are simple solutions that can be implemented to resolve these issues. Here are some troubleshooting steps to help you address these common problems:

1. Trays Locked Down for Specialty Paper:

If your trays are locked down for specialty paper but the machine still pulls from the locked tray during a print job, you can fix this within the Kyocera driver. Follow these steps:

- Go to Control Panel, right click on Kyocera

- Click Printing Preferences

- Click the Basic tab

- Change Media Type from Unspecified to Plain (this will instruct the driver to only pull from plain paper trays and override the default setting)

2. Printing from PDF and Forced to Print from MP/Bypass Tray:

If you are trying to print from a PDF document and the machine is forcing the job to print from the MP/Bypass tray, follow these steps to resolve the issue:

- In the Adobe driver, make sure the option “Choose paper source by PDF page size” is unchecked.

By following these steps, you can troubleshoot and resolve common printing errors and tray selection issues with your Kyocera printer. If you continue to experience problems, please contact our Customer Care team for further assistance.
